Type I (find the part/amount): What is 5% of 200?
Type II (find whole/base): 10 is 5% of what number?
Type III (find the %): 10 is what % of 200?
If you’re comfortable with solving algebraic equations, I recommend the translation method for all 3 types.
If you’re not, I recommend the translation method for type I and the proportion method for types II and III.
I don’t recommend Kaplan’s percent formula diagram method, as I find it unintuitive and hard to remember.
Type I is much more common than the others. I’d treat types II and III as optional.
(*) Video 1 uses the term "amount" for part and "base" for whole.
